Shapiro was an American Jewish artist. This typically emotive but unusually colourful work conveys the passion that accompanies true love, with the green and orange forms pressing desperately against one another. An example of this lithograph is held in the Tate Gallery’s permanent print collection.

Provenance: acquired directly from the Curwen Archive.
