James Manning studied at St. John’s College, Cambridge, and subsequently St Edmund’s College, Cambridge. Inspired by the architecture of his university city, James bought his first artwork: a 17th century David Loggan engraving of Caius College, Cambridge. Since, James has placed several important works of art in the collections of Oxford and Cambridge colleges, and Manning Fine Art has expanded its repertoire from views of Oxford and Cambridge to Modern British Art, views of London, ecclesiastical and maritime art, original vintage posters, & c.
