Signed and dated lower right.

A watercolour of Keble College. Pomeroy juxtaposes the red brick of the original 1870s buildings with the glass and metal of one of the modernist additions to the college in the 1970s: the ABK buildings, including the glass “goldfish bowl” bar.

William Gavin Ingram Pomeroy was born in Newlyn, Cornwall. From 1947 he studied architecture under Geoffrey Bazeley, and later became a lecturer for the Plymouth School of Architecture. He became the senior lecturer in architecture at what is now Plymouth University and retired in 1999.

Condition: generally very good.
