Graphis is a renowned international journal of visual communication and graphic arts, founded in 1944 in Zurich, Switzerland by Walter Herdeg and Dr. Walter Amstutz. Emerging during a period of growing international exchange in design, Graphis became a pioneering platform for showcasing excellence in graphic design, advertising, illustration, and photography across the globe.

This cover design for Graphis No. 18 (December 1947), designed by E. Davis, features a minimalist composition with a stylised wireframe globe resting on a wood-textured platform. Set against a muted peach background, the layout balances modernist clarity with playful typography—most notably the curved blue text reading “International Poster Issue”—reflecting the era’s emphasis on clean, conceptual design.

Condition: Generally very good.
