David Barclay Chapman

Captain Thursby, 9th Lancers
Gouache, pen, and ink 52 x 44 cm Captain Piers Thursby was born in 1834 and served in the 9th Queen's Royal Lancers, a cavalry regiment of the British Army, with whom he served during the Indian Mutiny of the 1850s.
