Born in Staffordshire, Ivan Taylor showed early talent as an artist, exhibiting 40 paintings on BBC’s ‘Sketch Club’ which were sold by the BBC raising money for UNICEF. After studying Fine Art and Graphics at Stoke and Stafford Colleges he worked as Head of Graphics for Staffordshire County Council Education Department. Starting with his first one-man exhibition in 1972 he has been a full-time painter since 1989. In 2006 he won the Rowland Hilder Prize at the open exhibition of the Royal Institute held at the Mall Galleries. He has also exhibited at the ROI and RBSA.
