Hammond (British, fl. 1930s)
Original design for LNER to the North

Gouache, 1937

Sadly nothing is known of the life of the artist of this series of rather fine Art Deco designs we have listed. In this design, two stylised trains, one hauled by probably The Flying Scotsman (or another A3 class engine), the other by Mallard (or another A4 class engine) pass – on their way northwards.
