Sulzer Engineering Works Switzerland

Watercolour

26×36.5cm

Please note we have two works in this series, click here for the other one. Here abstract, modernist figures filled with energy, hinting towards perhaps Epstein-like characteristics, are illuminated by the forge providing a splash of colour.

Born in Lowestoft he served in Bomber Command during the war and was commissioned to sketch on bombing raids over Germany. After the war, he taught at Chelsea School of Art and Camden Arts Centre. His biggest commissions were for Trinity House, recording Lighthouses, and Sulzer Engineering in Switzerland.
